New Year is a time to reflect on Christmas and also think about new challenges for this year.
I had a lovely time singing Christmas Carols during December in some special places. These included St.Albans Abbey and The Lansdowne Club and finished with a Christmas afternoon of songs and music at Centerparcs with 500 people of all ages. This certainly was a good start to the Christmas celebrations especially with the children joining in. Well, that is it for another year for my favourites of O Holy Night and the 12 days of Christmas.
Looking ahead I am now in rehearsal for a production of Die Fledermaus with St.Albans Chamber Opera. I am singing the central character Eisenstein with a number of fun ensemble pieces to sing including the famous watch duet. A case of hidden identity and a roving eye…he does get his comeuppance in the end.
The operetta is written by the Waltz King Johann Strauss and has some wonderful music so please come along to St.Albans Abbey Opera in March to see it. More details later.
